Influx of Visitors from Middle East and Russia to Istanbul Children & Maternity Expo

32nd International Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo was held at Istanbul Expo Center on January 11-14, 2017 in a space of 37.000 sqm, drawing participation from 260 companies, 550 brands and 10.000 visitors from 77 countries 

 

Erdal Baykara, General Manager of UBM ICC, who stressed that Turkey is a strong country which continues to product despite all challenges, explained “This year we organized CBME Turkey in a space of of 37.000 sqm., 260 companies, and 550 brands. In the aftermath of recent unfortunate events, it has become even more important to tell about our country to international markets. For this reason, we invite major economy columnists from our target markets, the Middle East, North Africa and Russia. These efforts paid off and we hosted 10.000 visitors from 77 countries at CBME Turkey. And we have already started preparing for the Istanbul Kids Fashion, which will be the only and the largest international exhibition of baby and children’s wear industry in Turkey to continue with the successful pattern”. 

 

2017-2018 AW Childrenwear Collections Have Their First Exhibit at CBME Turkey

 

The leading companies of the sector debuted their 2017 collections as well as some samples from their 2018 AW collections at CBME Turkey. This enable visitors to place their orders for not only the 2017 SS collections but also the autumn-winter season of 2018.

 

Incentive Budgets Will See Further Increase in 2017!

 

Bekir Aslaner, General Secretary of İTKİB (Istanbul Textile and Garment Industry Exporters Union), who talked about government incentives at the Expo, noted that the Ministry of Economy has provided 213 million TL Turquality incentive in 2016, added “Our second biggest incentive is provided for international fairs and exhibitions. We increased the amount, which was 25 million TL in 2015 to 46 million TL in 2016. Most significantly, we added local fair and exhibitions to this incentive category, so that exhibitions at the local level would also receive incentives. We also have foreign office incentives for those companies who open showrooms abroad for marketing their products. The incentive budgets will further increase in year 2017”.

 

“Foreign Markets Will Stay With Us As Long As We Do ‘Fast-Fashion’”

 

Özcan Sümer, Board Member of the İstanbul Garment Exporters Union and CEO of Eko Tekstil, reminded the important geographical advantage of Turkey and said “Fashion trends change at a greater pace, actually in every two months instead of summer and winter. If we are in fashion industry, we need to give importance to fashion and speed so that the foreign markets will stay with us. That is, as long as we do fast fashion, they will continue to make trade with us. We have the opportunity to go to the north, south and the east with brand name products”.

 

Parents Picked Most Baby-Friendly Products

 

The most baby-friendly products, which make life easier for babies, were selected by parents at the “CBME Turkey Consumer Awards”, organized in collaboration with 32nd International Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo CBME Turkey and Baby & Kid Store. The recipients of CBME Turkey Consumer Awards, regarded as one of the prestigious awards in the sector, were selected by the voting on the social media and internet prior to the fair. 

 

“Children of the Ottoman Palace” Costumes Debuted at CBME Turkey

 

CBME Turkey Fair continued to support the new generation of designers this year with the collaboration of Nişantaşı University. The collection of “Children of the Ottoman Palace”, prepared in every five months by the students at the Fashion Design Department of Nişantaşı University debuted at the CBME Turkey.

 

Gülseren Yücel, the Dean of the Arts and Design Faculty of Nişantaşı University said “Our faculty prepared for this show with the lecturers and students from the Textile and Fashion Design Department. We are education the next generation of designers at our faculty. They think, design, produce and now share it here”. 

 

Innovative Products Which Makes Life Easier for Mothers on Display

 

Innovative and trendsetting products were also featured at the Expo such as “Self-Heating Baby Bottle”, “Bedside Mattress Next to Parents”, “Thermal, Burp-Relieving Booties”, “Automobile Seat with Headrest and Seat Belt Adjustable According to Age”.
